There are numerous ways to get involved in organizing the GPSRC. The conference is attended by more than 500 graduate and undergraduate students and planning this day-long event is not possible without the help from student volunteers.
The students can get involved in following ways. What's more, you can include these volunteering activities in your Resume.
- Conference Organizers: The conference planning starts about 9-12 months prior to the event. The GPSRC Chair has a conference organizing committee which meets every alternate Tuesday from 6.10 - 7.00 pm. If you are interested in learning how the big conferences are planned, this is the right place for you.
- Session Moderators: The conference organizers needs session moderators mainly for oral presentations and workshops on the day of the conference. You can contribute your bit by volunteering to be a moderator.
- Registration Desk: Being a day-long event, the conferecne organizers need students who can volunteer to be at the registration desk. You don't have to spend whole day standing there, even handling the desk for an hour would do for us.
...and many more
Please consider signing up for volunteering for the conference. If you are interested, please email email@example.com.
